province-wide petition to keep access to Adult Basic Education

The Adult Basic Education is a Basic Right group has started a petition to the provincial government urging them to commit to continued public funding of ABE in British Columbia.

We call on the BC government to ensure BC’s continued economic health by committing to long-term funding for adult basic education. With a surplus of over $870 million for 2014-2015, the government can afford to fund Adult Basic Education programs.

You can sign the petition here and add a comment if you wish. Here’s what I wrote: “As an ABE instructor, I have witnessed the profound positive changes that can come with adult education, and I want to see these benefits continue without barriers to access.”
