don’t read these books

Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird being held hostage at Home Sweet Home Grocery in Prince George, BC:

This was part of the Prince George Public Library’s “Don’t Read These Books Event” to honour Freedom to Read Week. It was one of eight high-profile banned or challenged books “held hostage” at various downtown locations (see link for full list of books and locations).

I loved the eye-catching nature of the display–it is a good conversation starter.

We are really lucky to have a dynamic, creative group of librarians and programmers at our public library, that’s for sure!
